Pages from my sketchbook

Here are a few of the sketches I did back in July when we travelled up through the back of New South Wales to far west Queensland (Diamantina Gorge), making our way home across Queensland and back down the coast, camping in wild and remote places. I sketch when I find things I like, and when I get time to sit and immerse myself. Most of the trip was cold and windy, which is not ideal conditions for sketching!

  1. Anna- These are most lovely but you must know that ! I look at them and think what I wouldn’t give to just jot off something like this ….seriously I love the colours and the looseness …

    1. Thank you Poppytump! I have fun doing them, but invariably I look at them and think the colour’s not right or the form is not properly captured … my feelings about them always improve some time later! This is the only time I work freely, all my other work is much tighter, so it is a great opportunity for just letting rip every now and then.

In a totally different way that’s what I want to do when I have been on best behaviour being sensible among people I don’t know very well LOL
